Mountain State Fair
Background:
· Each year for many years the Buncombe County Republican Men’s Club has sponsored
and manned an information booth at the North Carolina Mountain State Fair. For the last
several years, Henderson County has contributed to the cost of the booth and has furnished
hard-working volunteers. This year, the Club is working with the 11th Congressional District
Executive Committee (and especially with Robin Wilson Ramsey, the Vice Chair) to have a
larger booth, paid for by Republicans from all the 11th District Counties and manned by
volunteers from all the counties.
· The objectives of the booth are to a) register voters (primarily, but not limited to, Republicans),
b) represent to the thousands of passing citizens the smiling face of the Republican Party of WNC,
and c) support WNC Republican candidates by offering a “home away from home” where they
can meet literally thousands of WNC citizens. The fall elections of this year, 2010, will determine
the composition of the NC Senate and House who will re-district North Carolina for the next ten years.
We Republicans have the wind at our backs for the first time in several years. This is the time to
take advantage of that fact.
· Volunteers are critical to the effort. Most of those who read this note plan to attend the
Mountain State Fair at least once between September 10 and September 19, 2010. Please
consider helping with the booth. It will be some of the most rewarding time you have ever
spent at the Fair! Contact George Keller at 828-252-4423 or send him an e-mail note by
clicking his name on the line above this one.

Instructions for Volunteers, 2010. These instructions will be updated from time to time until the
last day of the fair, so check them before you leave home. Volunteers are reminded to bring a cell phone,
if you have one, and bring along your favorite political signs. We'd like to have the booth well decorated!

We know that a lot of Americans are tired of seeing this White House mismanage our country, but in the past it's sometimes been difficult to find opportunities to fight back. At the Republican National Committee, we understand the importance of volunteering, so we're doing something to make it easier than ever before.
I'm writing to let you know about a new tool that's been launched at GOP.com. It's called Volunteer Match, and it's a network that collects volunteer opportunities for this election cycle. That includes opportunities to volunteer for campaigns, state parties, and RNC Victory Centers. It lets you create your own profile and search for volunteer opportunities. It also lets you specify how you feel your skills would be best utilized, and connects you directly to organizations looking for help. Using Volunteer Match, you can search for opportunities in your area and find the ones that best suit you. Whether you're looking to get involved on a national, state, or local level, Volunteer Match is the tool to make it happen.
We built Volunteer Match so that you can make an impact. Volunteering is the surest way for you to make a difference this fall. And make no mistake: you are going to make the difference. You can start today by signing up for Volunteer Match, and then forwarding this email to two friends who you think are ready to stand up for their country.
